From the children
A Tribute to Our Beloved Mum.
We grew up in the Pentecostal and Catholic churches, and our love for God continues to guide our lives. Today, we all attend Lighthouse Chapel International (Castle City Church), carrying with us the faith our mum nurtured in us.
Revelation 14:13 (KJV) And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Today, we gather with heavy yet deeply grateful hearts to celebrate the remarkable life of our beloved mother,Our Confidant and everything whom we affectionately called Sister Yaa.We saw her not to be only a mother but a Sister to Us.A woman whose grace, strength, and boundless love left an indelible mark on everyone she touched.
To describe our Mum is to speak of true resilience and unwavering hard work. Her business in bread making won the hearts of many people including school children. She became selfless by teaching us how to do it.She faced life’s trials, and later a long and difficult illness, with a quiet, steady courage that left us in awe.
Even when her body was weary, her spirit remained anchored. She never backed down from what it took to care for her family, teaching us the value of dignity, perseverance, and a strong work ethic that she demonstrated every single day of her life.
Yet, alongside her strength, our Mum was an absolute joy to be around. She possessed an awesome sense of humour and an infectious smile that could instantly light up the heaviest of rooms. And who could ever forget her unique gift for language? Her brilliant, eloquent use of English vocabulary was simply unmatched, often bringing both wisdom and laughter to our everyday conversations.
If we can boast in the Lord as Children through knowing the Lord, through Scriptures,Singing Spiritual songs and hymns,Prayers and for our deepest love for God was by her dint of hard work that cushioned us to know Our Maker more, through Pentecost Church teachings in our Infancy.
Above all, she was the epitome of a kind-hearted soul. She possessed a rare and generous spirit, always ready to share whatever she had with anyone in need. Her heart had no boundaries; she cared deeply not only for her own, but for anyone who crossed her path. If she had it, she shared it. Her warmth and generosity touched countless lives, and her home was a haven of comfort and safety.
Though she endured her sickness for a long time, she never let it dim her brightness, her wit, or her deep capacity to love.
Now, the battle is over, and the pain is gone.
Sister Yaa, your passing has left a void that can never be filled, but the laughter, the lessons, and the love you planted in our hearts as Children will continue to bloom. Your selflessness, your endurance, and the beautiful example you set will guide us for the rest of our days.We had wanted you to stay longer to enjoy more of the fruits of your labour and to behold your Grandchildren but death laid it icing hands on you.
John 11:26 (KJV) And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
Rest peacefully in the arms of the Almighty,Our Sweet Mummy. We love You and you will forever remain in our hearts.Your memory will forever be a blessing to us all.
